Tutorial – How to Link Your Loans and Enroll in the LRAP

District of Columbia Bar Foundation provides one-year, interest-free, forgivable loans of up to $12,000 per year to qualified attorneys providing legal assistance to low-income DC residents.

Who is Eligible to Participate?
To be eligible, an employee must be:
• A lawyer;
• Employed by an organization on DC Bar Foundation’s approved list;
• Having a current annual salary (including bonuses and other wages) of less than $90,000; and,
• Working not less than 35 hours per week (for full-time benefits) or not less than 17 hours per week (for part-time benefits).

Which Organizations are Eligible Employers?
DC-based, non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organizations that provide civil legal services to the District’s low-income or underserved residents and approved by the DC Bar Foundation. Visit DC Bar Foundation’s approved list of Eligible Employers.
